ONE STITCH AT A TIME CHALLENGE #127 - Back to School

Hi everyone

You may have noticed  it go quiet on my Blog as I am taking a week's break to have some family time.  I will be back though shortly.

Here we are again with a DT post for One Stitch at a Time.  The theme this week is entitled 'Back to School.  I struggled with this one, sometimes things just do not go right, and this was one of them!

After much deliberation and with the help from a friend to decide what to do  eventually I  covered a Notebook for this challenge, working on the idea of a Homework Planner really but then changed my mind to calling  it 'Important Things'

I was lucky enough to work with this gorgeous image from Stitchy Bears called 'Flower Fairy'.   She is available from  Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps .

Cheesecloth from Ebay
Flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts
Everything else from stash

Do pop over and take part in this lovely Challenge, full details can be found at One Stitch at a Time and there is lots of lovely DT inspiration too with a good variety of different styles of work.

SUMMER BREAK

Hi everyone

Just a little note from me today to give a very warm welcome my new followers and to thank you all for your lovely comments.  These are so supportive and they really do keep me inspired.  THANK YOU!  (HUG).  I love visiting all your Blogs and it is great how we can all inspire each other.

I am taking a short break over the next week so it may go a little quiet on here.  It is our local Regatta (on land and at sea) this weekend, a very busy time for us.  We have our son and girlfriend coming and staying the week so we will be out and about most days.  It is also Egton Agrictultural Show on Wednesday, this is the village where I was brought up so again this is another family event where our family all meet at Mums etc.  So what have I been up to this week?  Ermmmm, baking, baking, baking! And now i am in the final stages of cleaning  (boring!) and getting the house in some order for them arriving.  This involved taking everything out of the little bedroom, it took me a full day to do that (mostly my crafting stuff!)  Our bedroom is now so cluttered it is unreal!  It is only for a week though, then it all has to be put back!

I am hoping to be able to get online just to check comments etc each day, but if it does go quiet don't worry, I will be back in just over a week's time.

I have a DT card to go live on Sunday, so see you then!

Hope you are all enjoying your Summer,

Judy x

I planned this one for a Vintagey look to fit in with the Challenge at Tilda's Town, I included ribbon pearls and image for the Bingo Challenge at Ribbon Girl and the theme at Stamp and Fun = Creativity was perfect with the theme 'Christmas in August' for this card to fit too.

CHRISTMAS PARTYING IN JULY

Morning everyone

I have a card to share today but oh dear it was dreadful to photograph.  I have done my best but it looks so much different and better in real life.

I was inspired to try something different, I am sure it will have been done before but this card sort of 'happened' if you know what I mean.  I wanted to do something different, a different shape, and started off playing and it actually worked as I had hoped.  I wonder what you think and do hope you can get the gest of it from the poor photos.  I liked it so much you will see some more of these coming shortly!

Basically I took a six inch square card blank (well I cut my own this time actually).  Then I cut a piece of card 8 inch by 6inch and scored an inch from each edge of the larger measurment.  This was then adhered to the card blank, and decorated from there.  It will not fit in an envelope of course, so needs either a box or envelope-box.

Die-cuts  Memory Box and Magnolia
Punch:  Martha Steward Borde
LOTV stamp.  Image coloured with Copics and Promarkers
Ribbon and papers from stash (sorry I cannot remember the name of them)

HOLLY by Sylvia Zet

Hi everyone,

Just a quick little note from me with a heads up on a new image release by Sylvia Zet.  This is a new Winter image called 'Holly', oh my she is such a cutie! and as always Sylvia Zet has excelled going that little bit further making her image so individual.  Gosh I love these images and I know many of my followers do too so just had to share the news which I have just heard!   We can get her in Digi here and it seems she is to be available in rubber in September and I hear whispers that she is to be a Topper soon too!  I cannot wait to see what else comes our way for Christmas!

Hope you are all enjoying the Summer despite our 'strange' English weather!
